The people of the place at that time, (decades ago), had to sew all their clothes in these so-called sisters, "the Ferreiras", who made all the clothing of the population of the place and surroundings.
So whenever someone wanted to order new clothes, he'd say, "I'm going to the Ferreiras."
As the years went by, word of mouth, ferreiras' name was passing, leaving the place known by this name no longer lagoas.
